Another Ami Present

I thought I'd make up for my absence by posting the finished product of a few WEEKS of labor! *Yes, actually, I work hard on my patterns.* This little guy had been lost for a good few months, but I recreated him and now here's the pattern. You internet people take good care of it, and make sure I don't lose it again, ok? ;)

Sew the front flap for the strip to the "rice" (the white part), leaving the hole partially covered.
Stuff the doll to the desired size (be careful not to overstuff!) with the desired filling.

Annnndd, you're finished! Short and sweet and silent, like you guys.
I hope you enjoy it.

((A bit of PR: All I ask of you, if you should choose to use one of my patterns, is that you please tell me after you post it up somewhere (blog, forum, anythang), and please send me a picture if you make one! ))

This pattern is my pride and joy, really, it is!

  1. So cute! It looks like a fun pattern. I added onigiri and shy sister to my public bookmarks at http://del.icio.us/snuffykin
where you can find all sorts of amigurumi-related stuff.

I do have a cataloguing question: is oniguri a food or fandom creature, or something else? Thanks!

  2. Thanks so much for adding them, snuffykin! I've actually browsed through your bookmarks, so I'm honored :D

I would say onigiri would be a food item, most probably. I didn't really base him on any particular anime, although they are seen in a few.

  3. Onigiri is a food item/snack. Onigiri is a rice ball that has nori (seaweed) around it and sometimes has a sour plum inside (umeboshi) Japanese eat this for lunch along with other veggies or chicken in their bento!

very cute pattern. thanks for sharing!

  4. Thanks so much for this pattern! I intend to make all the characters from Fruits Basket (not sure if you know it...) and this will be a perfect addition for Tohru! It's adorable!
